Solid Waste District

The Solid & Hazardous Waste Division (SHWD) protects the health and environment of Wyoming’s current and future residents by ensuring proper management of solid and hazardous waste. The Division additionally promotes reuse of materials for a sustainable future.

The SHWD encompasses the following (you may navigate to each by clicking on the tabs on the left-hand side of this page):

  • Hazardous Waste Permitting & Corrective Actions
  • Inspection & Compliance
  • Orphan Sites
  • Solid Waste
  • Storage Tank
  • Voluntary Remediation Program

You will find updated information, forms, studies, and other content pertaining to SHWD. We are here to provide regulatory assistance and guidance to state-regulated entities.

If you have a question about waste disposal, obtaining a hazardous waste permit or learning about regulations that govern underground storage tanks, we can help you understand the state’s rules that protect our land, water and air.
