Waste Management of Alameda County is pleased to continue providing solid waste collection to the residents of Castro Valley. Under the new collection contract that began May 1, 2009, there were many new and exciting services added. Among them:

Curbside Battery Pickup

We are equally pleased to be the exclusive provider of commercial recycling, organics, and garbage collections businesses in the Castro Valley Sanitary District. Working closely with the District, WM has designed a program to save businesses money and reduce waste going to the landfill. Learn more in Commercial Services.

Think Green is not just a motto at Waste Management - it’s our way of doing business. As part of our new collection agreement, WM is upgrading its fleet of hauling trucks in Castro Valley to burn LNG (Liquid Natural Gas). This clean burning fuel produces fewer greenhouse emissions than coal and oil, allowing our community to enjoy cleaner air.
