How to Get One

We have three different cart sizes - 35 gallon, 65 gallon and 95 gallon. Approximate cart dimensions:

  • 35 Gallon: 36" high x 24" deep x 19" wide
  • 65 Gallon: 41" high x 26" deep x 26" wide
  • 95 Gallon: 44" high x 32" deep x 26 " wide

Please call our office for the rates in your area (651-699-2442 or 651-450-6465).

We provide the cart or container as a part of your service at no additional charge to you. The carts are for household garbage only. Please do not place yard waste, construction debris, dirt, rock or hazardous material in your cart. You will be charged for anything other than household garbage if found in your cart. You are responsible for cleaning the cart if needed.

We also have 1 yard, 1 1/2 yard and 2 yard containers available upon request.

Disposing of Your Waste Responsibly

We bring all of the waste we collect from our residential and commercial customers to Resource Recovery Technologies (RRT) in Newport. RRT turns waste into renewable energy. We do not bring any of our residential or commercial waste to a landfill. Although using a landfill would be less expensive, we feel that this is the most environmentally responsible solution for the disposal of the waste we collect. For more information on RRT go to

Single Sort Recycling

Recycling service is available to Inver Grove Heights residents.

The recycling in St Paul is provided by Eureka recycling.

All recyclables should be loosely placed in the same bin or can for recycling pick up. Please do not bag recyclables.

Plastics Plastics #1 - #7 (except #6 Styrofoam), yogurt containers, beverage containers, empty motor oil bottles, flower & shrub containers, kitty litter pails, landscape edging and 5 gallon pails. Paper Newspapers, magazines, junk mail, cereal & snack food boxes, frozen food boxes, egg cartons, cardboard, pop & beer boxes, phone books, pizza boxes shredded paper (must be in a sealed paper bag), and pizza boxes. Containers Glass jars and bottles (all colors), tin & aluminum cans, milk cartons & juice boxes, aerosol cans. What items are not recyclable? Needles, light bulbs, styrofoam, paper plates, cups, napkins, tissue, wrapping paper, produce and deli containers, black take out containers, mirrors, cookware, dishware, ceramics and pottery.

Yard Waste Removal

Yard waste removal is available to all service areas April - November at an additional charge per bag. Bags of yard waste can be picked up on your regular pick up day. Please call our office to schedule a pick up.

Yard waste must now be placed in compostable plastic or paper bags. We are no longer able to pick up yard waste in regular plastic yard bags.

Yard waste includes grass clippings, leaves and soft garden waste. It does not include sod, brush, dirt or branches.

Discounted Block Rates

We offer discounted rates to neighborhoods that have the majority of their households signed up for service with Berquist Disposal. The rates are discounted when at least 50% of the alley has signed up for service. There is an additional discount given if 75% or more of the alley signs up for service. If you are interested in being the coordinator for getting your alley switched to Berquist's please give the office a call.
