The previous single-day attendance mark of 179, 022 was set last year (2013) also during the 3rd round. This marks the third consecutive year that the tournament has set an attendance record during the third round. Through six days of the 2014 Waste Management Phoenix Open, 502, 776 golf fans have come through the tournament gates. If at least 35, 580 fans attend Sunday’s final round, the tournament will surpass the previous tournament-week record of 538, 356 set in 2008.
At 189, 722 the TPC Scottsdale was Arizona’s 8th most populated “city” on Saturday and close to 28, 000 people larger than the City of Tempe (161, 719).
