The 2016 Phoenix Open in Scottsdale is “The greatest show on grass!” PGA TOUR golf returns to the Valley of the Sun for the 81st playing of the Waste Management Phoenix Open, set to tee it up Feb. 1-7 2016 at TPC Scottsdale.
Last year 24-year-old Brooks Koepka earned his first career PGA TOUR win and capped off an awesome 2015 event that saw record breaking single-day crowds on Wednesday (75, 380) and Thursday (118, 461), as well as snapping the weeklong attendance record with 564, 368 enthusiastic fans flocking to TPC Scottsdale throughout the week.
Koepka is expected to return to defend his title, but he will be tested by what is traditionally one of the strongest fields on the PGA TOUR. Local legend Phil Mickelson will look to make his 27th consecutive Waste Management Phoenix Open start, along with an outstanding group of PGA TOUR stars such as two-time Major winner Bubba Watson, two-time Major champion Jordan Spieth, and a host of other fan favorites like Rickie Fowler, Keegan Bradley and many more.
Tournament competition begins on Thursday, Feb. 4, but there are plenty of other activities to keep fans entertained earlier in the week. Thanks to Ford, the official car sponsor of the Waste Management Phoenix Open, all fans get in free for practice rounds on Monday, February 1 and Tuesday, February 2, thanks to Ford Free Days. Other events to check out include the Monday Pro-Am, the R.S. Hoyt Jr. Family Foundation Dream Day and Outfront Media Special Olympics Open on Tuesday, and the ever-popular Annexus Pro-Am and Phoenix Suns Charities Shot at Glory on Wednesday.
As if that isn’t enough going on, when the last putt drops and the sun goes down at TPC Scottsdale, things heat up across the street at the Coors Light Birds Nest, a four-night music fest Wednesday – Saturday that attracts some of the biggest names in music and entertainment spanning all musical genres.
One week a year the PGA TOUR turns up the volume at the GREATEST SHOW ON GRASS – see for yourself at the 2016 Waste Management Phoenix Open. For more information or tickets visit wmphoenixopen.com.
