The Florin Perkins Public Disposal Site (FPDS) is not just a dump or a landfill rather the facility is specifically permitted to accept and process C&D as well as other mixed debris from contractors, haulers and homeowners. Besides these materials the site will also accept source separated wood waste, sheet rock, concrete, soil, asphalt shingles, wood shingles and demolition debris. We are LEED and CalGreen compliant and have the highest recycling rates in the County.

History

Established in 2008.

In 2008, Zanker began the extensive permitting process to turn the old Florin Perkins Landfill into the most extensive construction and demolition debris recycling operation in Sacramento. This process took over to years to complete. We now operate the largest Construction and Demolition recycling system in the County.

Meet the Manager

Abel Pereira has been with Zanker since 2001. He has been active in the waste management industry for over 11 years in both public and private sectors. Prior to working at Zanker, Mr. Pereira assisted in the management of the Center for Development of Recycling, which assists the public with sources of reuse and recycling via the Santa Clara County Recycling Hotline. In 2000, Mr. Pereira also assisted the City of San Jose with a commercial waste diversion study that quantitatively measured commercial source reduction, reuse, recycling and disposal activities. He is knowledgeable in regulatory issues and requirements related to the waste management industry. Mr. Pereira manages the Florin Perkins Public Disposal Site Material Recovery and Transfer Station located in Sacramento, California. Mr. Pereira has an environmental studies degree, with emphasis on waste management, and a public administration degree from San Jose State University.
