Waste Management Spring TX

On Saturday, May 7 from 7 AM until 1:30 PM, the cities of Hewitt, Lacy Lakeview, Lorena, Waco and Woodway will sponsor a household hazardous waste collection event at 501 Schroeder Drive. Residents from the five cities may bring unwanted household chemicals, small electronics, batteries and fluorescent bulbs and CFLs, up to 10 tires off the rims, oil and paint to the collection site for proper disposal or recycling. Residents must bring a driver’s license and water bill from their city of residence.

Friday, March 25 - Spring Holiday. The Solid Waste Offices and Cobbs Recycling Center will be closed. The Landfill will be closed to the public but will accept franchise haulers until 4:30 p.m.

Recycling and Holiday Trash Pick Up

During city recognized holidays, your normal trash and recycling collection day may change.

•Holiday on Monday, trash collection on Wednesday.
•Holiday on Tuesday, trash collection on Wednesday.
•Holiday on Thursday, trash collection slides on Wednesday, one day earlier.
•Holiday on Friday, trash collection on Wednesday, two days earlier.

The Solid Waste Department provides environmentally sound and cost effective waste management services in the form of residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional garbage collection and disposal that are an essential need of the community. These services are provided to approximately 36, 000 residential and 4, 600 commercial customers. A city owned and operated 237-acre landfill is managed for the end disposal of wastes originating in Waco and surrounding region. The department is a self-supporting entity that is not funded by city tax dollars. Funds for the department come from Solid Waste service fees.
