You can dispose of hazardous household materials and products - such as fluorescent light bulbs and tubes, oil-based paint and cleaning products - at the region’s Household Hazardous Waste Facilities. There is no fee. For more information, call the Household Hazards Line at (206) 296-4692, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays.

North Household Hazardous Waste Facility

Located at 12550 Stone Avenue North (directions below). Note that Household Hazardous Waste is not accepted at the North Recycling and Disposal station (located in the Fremont/Wallingford area at 1350 North 34th Street).

Open Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. No appointment is required. Closed on July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

Operated by SPU. Commercial or business waste is not accepted, except for a pilot program for small businesses.

• Southbound Directions
  Heading south on Aurora Avenue North, turn left on North 125th Street. Turn left on Stone Avenue North. Travel approximately half a block and the facility is on your right.

  Heading south on I-5 take the 145th Street exit and head westbound. Turn left (south) on Aurora Avenue North. Turn left on North 125th Street. Turn left on Stone Avenue North. Travel approximately half a block and the facility is on your right.

  Heading north on Aurora Avenue North, turn right on North 125th Street. Turn left on Stone Avenue North. The facility is approximately half a block on your right.

  Heading north on I-5 take the 130th Street exit and head west. Turn left on Aurora Avenue North. Turn left on North 125th Street. Turn left on Stone Avenue North. Travel approximately half a block and the facility is on your right.

South Household Hazardous Waste Facility

Located at the South Recycling and Disposal Station (8105 Fifth Avenue South).

Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. No appointment necessary. Closed on July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

Operated by SPU. Commercial or business waste is not accepted.

Located at 13800 SE 32nd St., Bellevue.
