Holiday Collection Reminder: Collection will not be affected by the President's Day holiday. Please make sure to place your garbage, recycling and organics recycling carts at the alley or curb line by 6 a.m. on your regularly scheduled collection day. Although collection is not delayed, Solid Waste & Recycling's office will be closed on Monday February 15, 2016.

Snow Shoveling: Remember to shovel a 36" wide path through the snow, including snow left by the plow, from your carts to the alley or curb line. Please do not shovel snow into the alley or street as it makes collection more difficult for our crew, it makes maneuvering alleys and streets more difficult for you and your neighbors, and it is not allowed per City ordinance 427.150. National Battery Day: February 18th, 2016 is national battery day! Call2Recycle is launching a new educational campaign to draw awareness to the importance of battery recycling. Take photos of your battery recycling efforts and post via FaceBook or Twitter using #NBD2016Recycle2Win to be eligible to win a $250 gift card. Minneapolis Solid Waste & Recycling customers are able to recycle household batteries by placing them in a clear plastic bag on top of your recycling cart.

Home Container Labels: Label containers in your home so guests know how to properly sort their waste. Stickers are available for your interior recycling, organics recycling, and trash containers located throughout your house. To order stickers to help improve your home collection system, call Solid Waste & Recycling at 612-673-2917 or email your request including the number of each type of stickers you want to SWRcustomer@minneapolismn.gov.
