2015 Notice of Annual Waste Deposit Disclosure
Minnesota law requires refuse haulers to disclose to their customers information about the disposal of their municipal solid waste and construction debris annually.
You may be responsible for any liability that results from contamination at a facility where your waste has been deposited. Minnesota believes that its waste management system provides substantially more financial and environmental protection than depositing waste in landfills in other states. Managing your waste in Minnesota may minimize your potential liability.
Per Minn. Stat. §115A.9302, the City of St. Cloud deposits its waste at Waste Management of Central Minnesota – St. Cloud, 650 Highway 10 North, St. Cloud, MN 56304. From there it is taken to:
1. Elk River Landfill, 22460 Highway 169 NW, Elk River, MN 55330, a primary facility for mixed solid waste. MPCA Permit #SW-74. Approximately 40 percent of the City’s total municipal solid waste is deposited at this facility.
2. Pope/Douglas Solid Waste Management – Waste-to-Energy Facility, 2115 Jefferson Street, Alexandria, MN 56308, an alternate facility for mixed solid waste. MPCA permit #04100021-003. Approximately 60 percent of the City’s total municipal solid waste is deposited at this facility.
