Waste Management Christmas tree Pick up

The City of Arcadia requires each occupied residence to maintain weekly trash and recycling services.

Weekly residential service consists of:
1 - 64 gallon BLACK cart for household trash
1 - 96 gallon GREEN cart for green waste
1 - 96 gallon BLUE recycling cart

All materials must fit inside your carts or containers. no loose bags will be collected.

Carts should be placed at curbside with the lid opening towards the street and side by side at least 3 feet apart. Clearance should be 3 feet in each direction away from parked cars or free standing objects.

Saving money on your trash bill is as simple as recycling!
Residents can request a smaller trash cart for a discounted rate. The smaller your trash cart, the less you pay! Reducing your trash is simple: Remember to put all paper, plastic, aluminum, cardboard, glass, junk mail, and much more in your recycling bin. You will be surprised how much you save!

Home pick up of your household generated special materials(formerly called household hazardous waste)

Do you have used motor oil? Old cans of paint? Unwanted electronics in your home?
Waste Management offers residents of Arcadia, CA a collection service for these household special materials. Through this program, you can schedule a collection of these materials right from your home.

Acceptable materials for pick up include:

• Automotive Products (used motor oil, oil filters and batteries)
• Garden Chemicals (pesticides, herbicides, weed killers, etc.)
• Paint Products
• Household Cleaners
• Swimming Pool Chemicals
• Electronics (TV’s and computer monitors)
• Universal Materials ( batteries, fluorescent tubes, CFLs, thermometers, etc.)

We do not accept biological waste, appliances, ammunition, asbestos, any medicines/pharmaceuticals or radioactive materials. Materials must be in a sealed, labeled container in 5 gal or less. This is a residential program only, no business materials will be collected. Residents are allowed up to 3 collections per year.

The City of Arcadia has five (5) Used Oil Collection Centers located citywide. In addition, the City provides FREE used oil containers, funnels and oil change mats to all Arcadia residents at our collection centers and the Public Works Services Department, located at 11800 Goldring Rd, Arcadia.

Christmas Tree Recycling

Waste Management offers free collection and recycling of real Christmas trees. Up to 14 days after Christmas, you may leave your tree on the curb on your scheduled collection day along with your carts.

These trees will be recycled, so please remove all tinsel, garland, ornaments, lights, and stands. Trees must be no more than 6 feet in length. If your tree is taller than 6 feet, please cut it in half to create two shorter pieces. Flocked trees will be accepted but cannot be recycled.

SHARPS Disposal

The City of Arcadia offers FREE 1-Quart Sharp Waste recycling receptacle at the Public Works Services Department, located at 11800 Goldring Road, Arcadia. Each container comes with a full set of instructions and return box for mailing.
