Waste Management Kitsap

The Case of the CFLs

In all areas of Kitsap County, curbside garbage collection includes curbside recycling. Your recycling service provider will issue a wheeled cart or recycling bins, instructions, and a calendar of collection days. Combined garbage and recycling bills will be sent to you quarterly.

Yard debris collection is an optional service available to residents living in the burn ban areas and areas with sufficient density. Leaves, weeds, prunings, grass clippings, brush, and woody material up to 4 inches in diameter and 3 feet in length can be recycled. Yard debris service includes the use of a 90-gallon wheeled cart that holds three times as much as a standard 32-gallon trash can. Food scraps may also be thrown into your yard waste bin, provided they are free of plastic, metal, etc.

Recycling Fee Exemption Program: Low-income seniors and low-income disabled residents living in unincorporated Kitsap County may qualify for the recycling exemption program. Qualifying citizens neither receive nor are billed for curbside recycling service. To qualify for this program, you must be the property owner and have a tax reduction or exemption on the property granted by the Kitsap County Assessor's Office.
