Who can register for the PanIIT 2008 Global Conference? |
PanIIT is primarily an association of IIT Alumni. For the 2008 Global Conference, registration is invited from the following types of individuals:

Any alumnus who has obtained any degree from any of the seven IITs |

Current or retired faculty from any of the seven IITs |
| • |
Current final year Undergraduate students from any of the seven IITs |

Current Postgraduate students from any of the seven IITs |

How do I register for the 2008 Global Conference? |
| Participants are encouraged to register online by using a valid credit card. Please click here for online registration.

The conference is in late December. Why should I register so early? |
| Only 3000 participants can be accommodated at the 2008 conference. Registration opened several months ago, and is filling up fast. You should register right away to avoid being disappointed.
By registering early, you can interact with the speakers to help shape content for the Conference, and engage in pre-conference networking with your buddies and batchmates to make the most of your time here.

Can I bring members of my family to the Conference? |
| Both the Online and downloadable Registration forms have a provision for you to indicate the members of your family accompanying you. The registration fee for accompanying family members is considerably lower.

Is the Pan IIT Conference open for non IITians. |
| Sorry, it is not. The Conference is meant exclusively for IITians and family members accompanying them. |

Can I register on the spot on 19th December? |
| Registration is on a first come first served basis. Since only 3000 participants can be accommodated, you are taking a chance! Spot registration is possible, but only if there are vacant slots available. |

What all does my registration fee cover? |
| Your fee covers entry to the Conference, access to all sessions and entertainment at the conference, and meals on all 3 days (except breakfast).
The same holds for your (registered) family members as well. They can attend any of the sessions on any of the days. There is also a special series of events called Sampoorna, designed for the whole family. Click here for information about Sampoorna.
The registration fee does not cover your travel to Chennai, transfers to the IIT Madras campus, and hotel/hostel accommodation. (But please do read FAQ #10 below).

Can I avail of Hostel accommodation on the campus? |
| Yes, and you can book and pay for Hostel accommodation online. Hostel accommodation costs an additional Rs.1500 for all 3 days, including breakfast. We also have arrangements for individual lady delegates at the girl's hostel.
Accommodation is available on first-come-first-served, single occupancy basis, for 400 men and 30 women only.
When you register online, you will have the option to add on Hostel accommodation, and your credit card will be charged accordingly.
Since all Hostel accommodation is on single occupancy basis, This option will not be available if any of your family members are travelling with you.
Please be aware that ameneties are limited! Mattresses, sheets, and pillow with cover will be provided. And we are making arrangements for hot water to be available on each floor through a common geyser.

Do you have any tie-ups with hotels in Chennai? |
| Yes we do!
Our Travel partner FCm Travel Solutions, has tied up with a large number of hotels and serviced apartments ranging from 5 Star to budget hotels. Substantial discounts are available for PanIIT delegates, and booking is possible online.

Do you have any packages that include travel to Chennai and accommodation? |
| Yes we do!
The Freedom Package was launched on August 15 and is a hassle free arrangement for Alumni based in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune traveling without family.
For a single, reasonably priced fee, we offer you to and fro air-conditioned rail travel, transfers to and from the Chennai railway station, single room hostel accommodation at IIT Madras, and access to the Conference with all its sessions, entertainment etc. All meals on all days are also covered.
The Freedom Package is now closed.

Are there any arrangements for children? |
| Yes. For the benefit of delegates traveling with little children (6 months to 12 years), a Day Care center will operate at Tech Kids on Campus. Please email us with your requirements.
We are also in the process of organizing special programs for children, and details will be available here soon. Of course, the entertainment events planned on all three days should appeal to all ages!

I am presently studying at IIT. Can I attend the Conference? |
| Final year Undergraduate students, and all post graduate students can attend the Conference. The registration fee for students is only half the normal fee, but there are limited slots available.

What if something comes up and I cannot make it? Can I cancel my registration? |
| Cancellation and refund of the full amount is possible up to 15 days before the start of the Conference. To cancel, please send an e-mail to paniitalumni@gmail.com mentioning your registration number. If you register for the Freedom Package, you can cancel and get a full refund up to 15 days before the start of the Conference. Or transfer the registration to any fellow IITian at any time. It's called the Freedom package, remember. |
