The Indo-US collaboration for Engineering Education (IUCEE) seeks to create an Engineering Faculty Institute for fostering Curriculum Collaboration, R & D, Quality Accreditation and Entrepreneurship Education thus creating a support network for 100,000 Engineering Faculty across India & US.
The Scenario
It is a known fact that in India, all the 400,000 graduates coming from 1300 engineering colleges are not employment or research-ready. Hence, the quality of graduates coming to the US for higher studies has been decreasing over the years. There is also a critical shortage of graduate students & Phds in India for good quality research.
The Proposition
IUCEE has explored the opportunities for Indo-US collaboration to cross-pollinate best practices in Engineering Education. With an aim to increase the quality of undergraduate engineering education, research & development and to prepare students for the global economy, an Indo-US Engineering faculty development institute is being set up which works on the following thrust areas:
Future Plans
Two pilot projects would be commissioned in each of the thrust areas. Based on the learning, modified pilots would be implemented in new regions and thus scale will be achieved geographically. A sustainability fee would be charged for the collaborations created by the institute to ensure self-sustainability of the project.
The future plans also include:

Establish Governance Structure |
| • |
Build Communications Portal |
